Minute to Win It - Games - Snap, Crackle, Topple

Blueprint Description[]

Ah, there's nothing like a morning bowl of cereal! But here, on Minute To Win It, the contestant first has to work up an appetite. In this challenge, the contestant must set up a row of thirteen cereal boxes, and then topple them, domino-style, to tip the contents of the final box into a bowl.

Game Description[]

Set up cereal boxes and, using domino effect, have them all knock over so that last one empties into cereal bowl.

History[]

This is a level 3 challenge.

Household Items:[]

  • 13 full, unopened cereal boxes
  • 1 full, open cereal box
  • Small pedestal
  • Bowl

Set Up:[]

Prior to game start, place open cereal box on pedestal in front of bowl. Place a start line 10 feet from pedestal. When clock starts, player places all unopened boxes in a line and places the penultimate box on top of the horizontally set cereal box.

Rules:[]

1. Use domino effect to knock over opened box, causing it to spill cereal into bowl.

2. Contestant must place at least one cereal box horizontally behind the final open cereal box on the pedestal so it can be hit by the penultimate box.

EX: Contestant may place more than one cereal box horizontally below the penultimate box.

4. To start domino effect, player may only touch the first box.

5. The first box must be touching the red starting line.

6. Contestant may not stack cereal boxes on top of each other in any way(besides the penultimate box)

7. To complete game, all boxes must be knocked over using domino effect and cereal must land in bowl.

Tips & Tricks[]

  • Position the boxes close together: By positioning the boxes close together, you can reduce the distance that the force of the falling boxes needs to travel, which can help ensure that the domino effect stays in motion.
  • Make sure the boxes are stable: It's important to make sure that the boxes are stable and not prone to tipping over easily. This can be achieved by placing them on a flat surface and ensuring that they are evenly balanced.
  • Experiment with different configurations: You may want to try setting up the boxes in different configurations to see which one works best. For example, you could try placing the boxes in a straight line, or you could try a zig-zag pattern.
  • Use a light touch: When starting the domino effect, it's important to use a light touch so that you don't disrupt the balance of the first box.
  • Practice: As with any skill, practice can help you become better at this game. The more you play, the more comfortable you will become with the different techniques and strategies that can help you succeed.
