Blueprint Description[]

In this challenge, the contestant must master the nuts and bolts of building. Using eight nut-and-bolt pairings lined up on a steel ruler, the contestant must meticulously construct an eight-story metallic tower, being careful to measure twice, stack once.

Using a ruler, stack 8 nuts with bolts screwed on the end.

  • 8 Bolts

Set Up:[]

Prior to game start, place the nuts on the bolts and lay them on the ruler so that they can freely roll off the end. Place a hand foul line on the ruler. When the clock starts, the player picks up the ruler and attempts to stack the 8 nut/bolt pairs vertically without dropping anything.

Rules:[]

1. If any nut/bolt pair (other than the first one placed) touches the table, the contestant loses.

2. Table may not be used to re-steady player's hand.

3. Player may use both hands to hold ruler but must pick one designated hand to use for entire game(i.e no switching hands). The player may use one hand to help the other stablize(i.e stay steady).

4. To complete the game, stack the 8 nut/bolt pairs vertically and remove the ruler. The stack must remain standing for 3 seconds within the 60-second time limit.

Tips & Tricks[]

  • Choose the correct hand to hold the ruler and use it steadily
  • Stack the pairs carefully and use a firm grip
  • Use both hands to hold the ruler if necessary
  • Take your time and don't rush
  • Keep your hands steady and your fingers close together when removing the ruler
  • Use a light touch: Use a gentle touch when placing the nuts/bolts on the ruler. Too much pressure can cause them to topple over.
  • Keep the ruler level: Make sure the ruler is level when you pick it up, and keep it level as you stack the nuts/bolts. This will help ensure that the nuts/bolts stay in place and don't roll off.
  • Use a light touch: Use a gentle touch when placing the nuts/bolts on the ruler. Too much pressure can cause them to topple over.
  • Use a quick, smooth motion to remove the ruler from the stack
